Helie d’Hautefort

Helie d’Hautefort is the founder and CEO of OptimInvest Group. Over the last 25 years, Helie has built a reputation as one of the most qualified and innovative currency professionals in Europe. He is well known for both the creation and implementation of diverse currency strategies and for his integrity in building businesses. He started his career in 1985 as a currency option trader within Credit Lyonnais trading room in New York. After various assignments in currency options trading on the banking side, he joined the Peugeot Citroën group in Geneva, where he was in charge of currency hedging for five years. In 1998, Helie founded Overlay Asset Management, the first Continental European currency management business offering overlay currency services, managed accounts and pooled fund programmes. By 2012 in partnership with BNP Paribas, he had built the business to over $23.0 Bio of Assets under Management. Following on from this successful 10 years collaboration with BNP Paribas, Helie and his senior management team have taken back full control of Overlay Asset Management; now renamed OptimInvest.
