The Global Investment Research Challenge Local Final - February 8, 2011 in Moscow.

All participating Russian Universities have selected their best students to compete in the Global IRC program in 2011.
After a two-month effort, five student teams with the best research reports on OAO NLMK are now preparing presentations for the Local Final competition to present them in front of the Local panel of Judges:

• Neil Withers, CFA, Board member of CFA Association (Russia); Vice Chairman of business development, Head of corporate broking at SilkrouteFinancial
• Denis Sitnikov, CFA, VP in Corporate Finance Department, Uralsib Capital
• Sergey Takhiev, Head of Investor Relations at OAO NLMK
• Dmitry Korshunov, Marketing manager at Dow Jones Factiva

About the Global Investment Research Challenge
Global IRC is an equity research competition among student teams from the world’s top universities’ business and finance programs. The CFA Society of Russia introduces the Challenge to promote best practices in research among the next generation of analysts through hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company analysis and presentation skills.

How is the Challenge organized?
Upon invitation from the Society, local universities assemble university teams from 3 to 5 students each. Under guidance of a Mentor, students write an equity research report on a publicly traded company and present their findings to a distinguished panel of experts. The teams are judged on their written reports by Graders and the presentations by Judges and so a winner is selected. The winner will be promoted to the regional Investment Research Challenge to be held this year in Madrid on March 3. Throughout the competition, leading investment professionals volunteer to teach students best practices in equity research and corporate analysis.
