The Association invites you to a live presentation by Tarek Fadlallah, CFA, Executive Director at Nomura Investment Banking (Middle East). He will deliver his presentation on Challenges and Opportunities in the Arabian Gulf Markets on July 23, 2009, in Moscow.

The event will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2009,
at 9:30am at Bolshaya Molchanovka street, 36/1, Moscow.

The recent petrodollar boom in the Arabian Gulf has created numerous business opportunities and helped fund a huge investment boom across the region. Although oil has been an important lubricant, economic growth has also been supported by more liberal policies and greater market deregulation. This brisk pace of growth has come at a cost, accompanied by higher inflation, creating a number of unexpected developments, and exposing several structural challenges.

Mr. Fadlallah will explore these challenges and examine these developments to provide an assessment of current opportunities.

SPEAKER'S BACKGROUND

Mr. Fadlallah is executive director of Nomura Investment Banking (Middle East). He is also a member of Hawkamah, the Institute for Corporate Governance, and has over 20 years of experience in the international capital markets, including more than 10 years focused on the Middle East. Mr. Fadlallah is a founding member of CFA Bahrain, a member of the board of academic qualifications at the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Finance, and frequently speaks at industry events and conferences, including appearances at CFA Arabia, CFA Bahrain, the Saudi Economic Forum, and Hedge Fund World.

He is the author of a contribution to the book The Gulf Region: A New Hub of Global Financial Power and several strategy notes on the GCC equity markets including "The Great Arabian Bubble." Mr. Fadlallah holds a BSc degree in economics from the London School of Economics.
