This Monday, November 27, CFA Association Russia launched the 14th consecutive student research challenge. More than twenty teams registered for this year's competition from all over Russia to analyze kicksharing service Whoosh.

On November 18 - 19, CFA Association Russia held offline training on exposing manipulation in financial reporting. The course participants learned what goals are set by the company's management when forming financial reports, what techniques exist for their "purposeful" achievement and how external users can detect such manipulations.

At the beginning of November, CFA Association Russia organized offline training on financial modeling of investment projects in Excel (level 2). Our tutor, Alina Kosunova, CFA, shared her experience in financial modeling and demonstrated how to check models for errors and include complex calculations, as well as correctly determine the source data and assumptions.

On Friday September 29th CFA Association Russia hold an in-person event in Novotel Moscow Kievskaya, dedicated to adoption of GIPS standards. We invited Emil Vassenine, CIPM, CIM, Principal at EVIV Group.

Last Friday, September 15th, CFA Association Russia held an in-person business breakfast in Novotel Moscow Kievskaya. We were delighted to invite representatives of the Support Partners agency, Alla Nesterova and Maria Lukyanchikova, to discuss possible career scenarios for financial specialists in the current situation.

Last Wednesday, August 23rd, CFA Association Russia organized an offline training on career management. The event was held in collaboration with Business academy B1.

Last Friday, on June 30th, CFA Association Russia organized an in-person evening event in Novotel Moscow Kievskaya with Sofya Donets, CFA, to wrap up the business season and congratulate winners of the CFA Russia Challenge 2023.

Christmas Member Networking - Green Transition: Outlook and Obstacles. On Friday, December 16, CFA Association Russia members and candidates met at Novotel for a Christmas networking event.

We welcomed Artur Aleksanyan, CFA, Head of the risk management department in a large commercial bank, to continue CFA Russia's series of events for CFA candidates focused on the latest updates in the CFA curriculum.

On November 29, CFA Association Russia held an online event with Alexey Debelov, CFA. We discussed peculiarities of asset management in the UAE.

On Monday November 21st, CFA Association Russia held an in-person networking event in Novotel Moscow Kievskaya. Emil Vassenine, CIPM, CIM, joined us to give a presentation on the GIPS Standards and the CIPM certificate, as well as shared his experience of working in the biggest GIPS-oriented companies in USA and Canada.

CFA Association Russia continued its pipeline of events dedicated to blockchain technologies. On Tuesday November 15 we invited Egor Krivosheya, head of the Blockchain and Fintech Laboratory at the SKOLKOVO School of Management, to talk about how blockchain is used in business and finance.

On Tuesday October 18, CFA Association Russia held an online networking session with our members and candidates. We invited Anastasia Glebova to talk about career opportunities and tips for finding the right job under current circumstances.
