CFA Association (Russia) and MSCI once again partnered for organisation of the combined social and educational event – Business Breakfast.

The subject of the presentation and short workshop delivered by MSCI representatives was Professional Construction of Global Equity Portfolios.

This was the second time for Mark Haede, Executive Director, Head of CEE Region at MSCI, presenting at CFA Association’s Business Breakfast. Mark visits Russia on a regular basis and he spoke about Equity Allocation in September last year.

The focus of Mr. Haede’s presentation this time was Global Equity Investing. The presentation provided overview of how globalization has been re-shaping global capital markets, economic exposure on country and company levels and how these changes reflect on global equity investment process.

The second part of the Business Breakfast was dedicated to the short workshop on Professional Construction of Global Equity Portfolios. This workshop was delivered by Ralph Karels, Vice President, Consultant at MSCI. The workshop consisted of Theoretical and Practical case studies parts. In the Theoretical section of his presentation, Ralph spoke about conceptual formulas and models used by MSCI for portfolio construction, risk management and optimisation. The Practical case studies segment of the presentation looked at various methods of portfolio construction developed by MSCI.

Business Breakfast was attended by over 35 representatives of Moscow’s financial, investment and banking community. The Q&A section concluded the presentations and guests had an opportunity to talk to both speakers in less formal atmosphere.
